The best portraits don’t live on a phone.

We take thousands of photos a year and frame almost none of them. The moments that matter most end up buried in a camera roll, scrolled past, and quietly forgotten. A real portrait is the opposite of that. It is one considered image, made on purpose, of the people who matter, and it earns a place on the wall.

That is how I work. Every session is directed, so what we capture actually looks and feels like you, not a stiff version posing for a stranger. Then we finish it. Printed, sized, and framed as art, or bound into an album, so the photograph becomes something your family lives with and passes down, instead of a download link that expires.

01 / Family

The year your family was exactly this.

The years move fast. A family portrait holds on to precisely who everyone was, kept bright and true to life and never stiff. We keep the session relaxed and real, then help you put the best frames on the wall.

02 / Fine-Art & Legacy

A portrait worthy of being an heirloom.

Some portraits are meant to outlive us. A legacy commission is planned, directed, and finished as fine art, made of the people who matter most and built for the wall it will hang on.

We plan the concept, wardrobe, and setting around the room and the family, then finish the piece on canvas, metal, acrylic, or archival paper. The centerpiece of the room, not a file that sits unprinted.

Artwork & wall art

We don’t hand you a download link and disappear.

A portrait is only finished when it is on the wall. After the session we design the artwork with you, then handle the printing and framing through our professional lab, so the image you love becomes a piece your family actually lives with.

How a portrait commission works

01

Design consult

Before we shoot, we talk through the wall, the room, and the people, so the session is planned around the piece you actually want to live with.

02

The session

Real direction draws out the expression and the connection. We shoot to a plan, not to a memory card you sort through alone later.

03

Choose & finish

We help you select, size, and finish the images as framed wall art and albums, then handle the printing and framing for you.

Zach Dalin is extremely talented, and his work is nothing short of stunning and cinematic. His ability to capture emotion and movement is truly next level. Every photo tells a story.

FAQ

Portrait sessions in St. Louis, answered.

What portrait sessions does Zach Dalin offer?

Family portraits and fine-art and legacy portraiture, planned from the start to be printed and framed as wall art rather than left as files. Personal branding and executive portraits live under Commercial.

Where do portrait sessions take place?

On location around St. Louis, including Forest Park and other favorite settings, or in the natural-light studio in University City. We match the location to the people and the look you want.

Do you help with prints, framing, and albums?

Yes, that is the point. After the session we design the artwork with you and handle the printing and framing through a professional lab, in canvas, metal, acrylic, fine prints, and Italian-leather albums.

How much is a portrait session?

Sessions are a session fee plus the artwork you choose, so the investment scales with what you want on the wall. Reach out and we will walk you through options for your space.

How far ahead should I book?

Reach out early, especially for fall and holiday family sessions, which fill quickly. Exact dates and timing are confirmed when you book.
