A New Slick City Location Gets Some Local Flavor

When Slick City Slide Park opened its newest location in St. Peters, they wanted the interior to feel like more than just another indoor slide park. They brought in Bryan Connor, a graffiti artist based out of Washington DC, to cover the walls with custom artwork that would give the space some real personality.

Bryan didn't just bring generic graffiti design to the job. He built his pieces around St. Louis itself. The Gateway Arch shows up in the work, along with nods to the city's professional sports teams and other brands and spots that locals will recognize the moment they walk in. It's the kind of detail that turns a blank wall into something people stop and look at.

Documenting the Install

Bryan hired us to capture the process from start to finish. Graffiti work like this doesn't happen in a few minutes. It's layers of paint, cans, and hours of steady hands building up a piece section by section. We set up timelapses to show that transformation, watching blank walls slowly turn into full scale murals packed with St. Louis references.

Alongside the timelapses, we shot photos of Bryan and his team while they worked. There's something different about seeing the artist mid-piece, can in hand, versus just the finished product. It shows the scale of the project and the amount of physical work that goes into a mural of this size.

You can see some of that process in the timelapse video from the shoot, which shows the walls coming together piece by piece inside the new Slick City space.

Why This Kind of Documentation Matters

For a brand like Slick City, opening a new location is a big investment, and custom art like this is part of what makes the space memorable. Having photos and video of the install gives them content they can use to show off the space before it even opens to the public. It also gives Bryan a record of his own work, something he can point to when talking with future clients about the scope of what he does.

This is the kind of project we love getting called in for. It's not a typical headshot session or a wedding day. It's commercial documentation work, capturing a process and a finished product for a brand that wanted more than just photos of an empty room. Whether it's a mural install, a corporate event, or a business trying to show what happens behind the scenes, we like being the ones there with a camera when it happens.

Local Details, Local Pride

What stood out most about this project was how much Bryan leaned into St. Louis culture even though he's based in DC. The Arch, the sports references, the local brand nods. It would have been easy to bring a generic design and slap it on the walls. Instead, he built something that feels specific to this city, and that made for a more interesting shoot on our end too. Every new section of wall had another detail worth capturing.
