Jesse + Luke's Engagement Session at Washington University

Where It All Started

Jesse and Luke hired Zach Dalin Photography to photograph their upcoming fall wedding, and like all of our wedding collections, an engagement session came built in. We love this part of the process. It gives us a chance to work with a couple before the big day, to figure out how they move together, what makes them laugh, and how to make them feel at ease in front of a camera.

Think of it as a dress rehearsal, not for the wedding itself, but for us as a team. By the time Jesse and Luke's wedding day arrives this fall, we will have already spent real time together. No awkward first introductions, no guessing how someone reacts to direction. Just two people who are comfortable with us, and with each other, in front of the lens.

Why Washington University

Jesse and Luke met on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis, so when it came time to pick a location for their session, there was really only one choice. They asked to photograph on campus, and it made complete sense. This wasn't just a pretty backdrop for them. It was the place where their story actually began.

Washington University's campus is one of the most beautiful settings in the entire city, all stone architecture, green quads, and light that filters through the trees in a way that feels almost built for photography. We walked the paths that Jesse and Luke had walked together years before, and we came away with images that are more than just engagement photos. They are the first family heirlooms this couple will have together, a record of where they started before they build everything else.

More Than Just a Gallery

After the session, Jesse and Luke sat down with us to choose artwork for their home. This is a part of our process we care a lot about. We are a full service studio, which means we do not just hand over a folder of digital files and call it done. We want our couples to actually live with their images, not just scroll past them.

Our product line includes handcrafted Italian leather albums, canvas prints, acrylic prints, metal prints, and a handful of other options built for display in a home.
