A Finished Pool Build Worth Showing Off
Castlewood Contracting, a full service contractor based in St. Peters, brought us out to a home in Chesterfield, MO to document one of their recently completed pool builds. This wasn't a quick walkaround with a phone camera. Castlewood wanted real marketing material that could show homeowners exactly what their team is capable of, and that meant treating the backyard like the finished product it was.
The scope of this build was substantial. Castlewood handled the pool itself, the surrounding decking, the backyard layout, and all of the landscaping that ties the space together. When a contractor puts that much work into a project, the photography needs to match the level of craftsmanship on site.
Capturing the Full Scope, From the Air and on the Ground
We shot this job in two parts. First, drone shots to give a wide view of the backyard design as a whole, showing how the pool, decking, and landscaping work together as one connected space. Aerial shots are useful for contractors because they show scale and layout in a way that ground level photos simply can't.
From there, we moved into the details. Close-up shots of the decking material, the pool edge, the landscaping choices, and the finer touches that separate a good build from a great one. These are the kinds of images that let Castlewood point to specific work and say, this is what we do, this is the quality you're getting.
We also captured video of the finished space, giving Castlewood a piece they can use across their marketing, whether that's a website, social media, or a sales conversation with a future client standing in their own backyard imagining what's possible.
Why This Matters for Contractors
A completed pool and backyard renovation is a big investment for a homeowner, and it's often the kind of project that sells itself once people see it done well. But most homeowners considering a backyard overhaul aren't going to walk the neighborhood looking for finished examples. They're going to look at a contractor's website or social media and make a judgment based on what they see there.
That's where photography like this earns its place in a contractor's marketing toolkit. Drone shots give potential clients a sense of the full backyard transformation. Detail shots build trust by showing the craftsmanship up close. And video ties it all together in a format that's easy to share and easy for people to watch start to finish.
For a company like Castlewood, working across St. Charles and the greater St. Louis area, having a library of strong visual documentation from projects like this Chesterfield build means they have material ready to go for the next pitch, the next social post, or the next update to their portfolio.
